Dave Moulton former bicycle framebuilder History in Pictures Aged 13 with my first “New” bike. No aluminum what-so-ever on this Hercules Roadster. The handlebars, rims and even the mudguards were steel; the bike must have weighed around 40lbs. This was the bike that got me into cycling and I toured all over the South East of England on this mount.

Now really serious; riding in The National 12 Hour Time Trial
Championship at age 17.
Riding for The Luton Arrow Club on a bike built by local builder Pop Hodges who would later become my mentor I covered 220 miles in the twelve hours, the winning ride was around 250 miles. Read the story behind this picture "My best 12 hour ride" in Dave's Bike Blog. |

Picture taken 1976 outside my frameshop in Worcester, England. This was an old WWII building and the corrugated steel was so rusty it constantly leaked. I would climb on the roof to patch it with tar and paper, but make more holes in the process. | |

unknown; having previously been a small Independent Builder in England with
only a few frames exported to the US. It was ads like this one in Velo-News that got my name "out there"
